1918 Miina fighting in the Finnish Civil War to the Communists in a poorly-armed women's battalion. So her group defeated by the superior northern troops and it comes in captivity, where women are tortured indiscriminately, raped and executed. Miina can escape initially, but it will soon be discovered by the young soldier Aaro who wants to make it to an ordinary court. But provincial judge Hallenberg leads a corrupt regime.
