In his second consecutive record-setting season, Gagne is only one of eight closers ever to have won the award, the last coming in 1989. Going a perfect 55-for-55 in saves and extending the overall consecutive save records to 63, Gagne made as strong a case as any closer before him to take pitching's greatest honor.
