Bonanza: A friend of Adam's, Ross Marquette starts displaying some erratic behaviour. When Adam finds out that Ross has beaten his wife, he takes her back to the Ponderosa for her own safety. Adam then starts to investigate why Ross is behaving the way he is. Meanwhile the rest of the Cartwrights have to deal with cattle rustlers. Then Ben discovers a disturbing connection between the rustlers and Marquette, and Adam realizes that he is the only one who can help Ross before it's too late.
