Blue Jasmine

Jasmine (Cate Blanchett) is moving from New York to San Francisco after a rough divorce from her husband Hal (Alec Baldwin). She is talking about her life and how she got to that plane to an older woman, who makes it obvious she wants out of that conversation. After arriving in San Francisco, she arrives at the apartment of her sister Ginger (Sally Hawkins). Ginger is divorced from her first husband Augie (Andrew Dice Clay), who never liked Jasmine. The film contains a couple of flashbacks that involve Jasmine, Hal, Ginger, and Augie, and how it relates to what is currently happening.

Alternate universe stories have been done to death, but the appealing nature of so many of the characters makes this one work, as well as the fact that the filmmakers are clearly trying to wrap up the story (which includes a small bit of retconning at the beginning, but it pays off toward the end). The 3D occasionally falls into the trap of throwing things towards the audience, but the characters and sets are so beautifully animated in all dimensions (the textures of Shrek and Donkey, particularly, have improved even on the wonder that was Kung Fu Panda) that the 3D actually adds to the enjoyment. The first two remain the crown jewels of the franchise, but this is a worthy addition and a suitable end to the... well, saga is too strong a word, so storyline will have to do. And the bonus? Eddie Murphy gets to sing SEVERAL songs WITHIN the movie!$

Chased and chastised by this finger-bladed demon, it is the awakening of old memories and the denials of a past of retribution that spurns this hellish vision of a dreamlike state and turns death into a nightmare reality. It was definitely Platinum Dunes\' best movie. The first 30-45 minutes were very powerful, and then it kind of slacked, but came back at the end. Nevertheless, I surprisingly never lost interest, something I was kind of expecting, because I\'ve been keeping up with this movie for almost a year now. It held me to the very end, and I never got bored with it. Putting the movie up against the original, it failed. But putting it up against the entire Nightmare franchise, I\'d say it was better than all the sequels. A very worthy entry, a great popcorn movie, and a great comeback to an icon who hasn\'t had a movie completely to himself in 16 years. I\'ll definitely buy it when it comes out. Putting it in the context of remakes/reboots, I\'d say it was above RZ\'s Halloween II, Stepfather, Friday The 13th, Texas Chainsaw, and The Wolfman, but lower than Hills Have Eyes and Last House On The Left.$

$Watch The Back-up Plan 0123movies-Zoe\'s a woman who has a hard time letting anyone into her life. She has a habit of pushing people away when they get close. She also wants to have a baby but because she has no man in her life decides to be artificially inseminated. Shortly after having the procedure she meets a guy named Stan whom she connects with. But she\'s still afraid to let him in and when she tells him about her pregnancy thinking he would bail but he sticks with her. This is a great movie to see with friends, family or a date. It does not disappoint. The funny parts are well acted as are the few moments of serious dialog. I often walk out of a theater feeling like that was an hour and a half of my life I will never get back. Too many crappy endings and just drawn out movies. It\'s a let down to see serious faces as after a comedy is over. This is a fantastic upbeat, funny movie that will have you smiling as you walk out of the theater. Be sure to hang around a minute after it\'s over so you can see the hilarious out-takes. Jennifer Lopez is picky when it comes to the projects she chooses. I know if she is in it than it\'s going to be good. It is a pleasure to see Alex O\'Loughlin in the role of the charming and attractive all around \$

Tasha smith made me laugh as always, I liked the character \'Angela\' in this one better than in the last one, the character just seemed a bit too over the top (she is in this one but I think it\'s more understandable from my point of view) I\'m surprised people don\'t like the film, I\'d definitely recommend it to others!$
