The film is based on the first three books in the series. Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga\'Hoole surprised me. I was expecting a childish movie, but this in fact is for a much more mature audience, kids will not like it for sure as it is really dark. Snyder stays in lieu of his previous films with his infamous slow motion effect. The visual effects are absolutely dazzling, it nearly looks real down to the feathers. it is in fact one of the most biggest visual masterpiece ever, extraordinary splendid special effects. In short, it\'s one of the best animated films of the year. It\'s the perfect movie to bring your family (and maybe friends as well) and enjoy. Have no worries, sit back, and enjoy the ride. And seeing it in 3D is a plus, no matter what anyone else says. The ending also hints at a sequel. Hope that\'s a possibility as Warner Bros. has a potential new family franchise at their hands. And I hope Snyder returns as well. Story-wise, it\'s obviously unoriginal, but it is told very well. This is due to the animation, which is absolutely, spectacularly stunning. There is a great amount of detail in the film, especially on the owls, you can see every feather, every movement they make, every gust of wind that brushes that pass their feathers. Monsters (2010)

$Watch Monsters 0123movies-The Monsters is a unique masterpiece written and directed by Gareth Edwards in the year 2010. The Monsters was kind of a B-movie, or at least didn\'t get the attention it deserves. By my opinion it\'s almost a perfection, it\'s really well written, and all the speeches are made up by the writer/director Gareth Edwards. The Boondock Saints is the 34 year old Gareth Edwards\'s first movie, and his second one, The Monsters 2: The Repentanence is in production and is coming later this year. The Monsters is a action/crime and drama film and for all I know, a pretty good one (believe me, seen it about 30 times). The Monsters tells the story of a cynical journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through an infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border. The Monsters is just amazing, great, a masterpiece. It\'s well written and Whitney Able and Scoot McNairy are amazing as the \'Monsters\'. I gave the Monsters 10/10 (excellent). It\'s probably the best movie I\'ve ever seen, I don\'t know how many times I\'ve watched it, but it must be at least over 30 times. The Monsters did not get the attention it deserves and still doesn\'t, being one of the greatest ever made. Especially in this genre (Action/Giant Squid/Romance). If you haven\'t seen it, I highly recommend that you do it as soon as possible and if you\'ve already seen it, do it again.$

Legendary (2010)

$Watch Legendary 0123movies-Because of this being a WWE Films release, there are going to be some that will automatically condemn the movie. It\'s a shame, because this is a really good film. John Cena\'s involvement is actually minimal. The focus is on his younger brother. The story is about a young man named Cal who had a dad and an older brother, who were great amateur wrestlers. The father is killed in a car accident while he and the older brother Mike(played by Cena) are going to scout an opponent. The death causes a rift in the family. Mike blamed himself, and the mother (played by Clarkson) blamed him too. Ten years after the accident, Cal has decided to start wrestling. Being awkward and clumsy, he seeks out Mike to train him. He uses the amateur wrestling in hopes of not only coming out of his shell, but also in putting his family back together in. This is by far the best of the films WWE has put out. It has a lot of heart, and tells a good story. Even if you are not into amateur wrestling, they still make it easy to follow. I wish WWE would have actually gotten more behind this rather than releasing it to just a few select screens, and then rushing it to DVD. They didn\'t even advertise it outside of WWE programming. This is a film that they could have made more money on.$

30 Days of Night: Da

$Watch 30 Days of Night: Dark Days 0123movies-I haven\'t seen the original mainly because movies filmed with no color turn me off, so I can\'t compare it to the the fist one. As a stand alone movie Dark Days works very well. Stella, who I understand is a survivor from part I, is giving lectures at universities about vampires. Since she knows no one believes her, this time around in LA she has a demo planned. High intensity UV lights are turned on, and sure enough, some vampires among the audience go up in flames. Stella then is approached the by a group of vampire hunters who want to kill Lilith, the queen vampire, to put an end to it all. They are mentored by a reformed vampire named Dane, who also sent letters to Stella. They embark on their mission but their early attempts in the sewers are unsuccessful. Then they board a ship where Lilith is. The group only consists of 4 people. Stella, two guys and another girl, who initially presents herself as the tough chick and hates Stella, but turns out to be a complete fool and pretty annoying, too. This movie is very enjoyable and entertaining. It takes the vampire genre seriously and doesn\'t turn it into a comedy or romance. There are plenty of good gory death scenes. What impresses most though is Kiele Sanchez\'s performance. She gives it her all, as she has done in some of her other work. And she is very attractive. Also nice is that a good part of this movie is filmed during the day and the colors are vivid. The story itself is nothing spectacular but, as mentioned, the virtue of this movie is that it\'s a much needed return to a good serious vampire movie and has good performances and lots of gore.$

Yes, the devil can visit at anytime and for any reason to sow confusion and fear and to wreak retribution for terrible acts we humans are too cowardly to admit. Some may think of the devil as a malevolent spirit that operates to tempt and torment us; but perhaps the devil is a projection of our own fears. Who knows? This movie inspires the audience to ponder these questions. This is a great movie for its genre. It grabs and keeps the audience\'s interest. There is solid acting, lots of tension and a climactic ending. Jenny O\'Hara is great as the old woman. She is the same actress who played Doug\'s mother in the sitcom King of Queens. In this movie she is anything but benign. The special effects added to the tension, especially the use of sound effects which greatly enhanced the sense of something terrible happening. The American (2010)

$Watch The American 0123movies-Who would have thought that Hollywood could produce a taut murder-thriller without slamming every plot point down our throats? But there you have it: that\'s THE American. George Clooney, whom I usually enjoy more in his comedic or semi-serious roles (O\' BROTHER WHERE ART THOU and BURN AFTER READING being two of my recent favorites) pulls in a dark, interesting, and dangerous character as Jack, a weapons man/hit-man who\'s retirement from his chosen profession is proving extremely difficult. Making friends is risky to both Jack and those he likes, as we witness early on in the film what he\'s forced to do to a woman whose innocence means nothing when Jack is discovered in a Swedish hideout. Forcing Jack to leave, he travels to Italy where he\'s told to lay low and wait for instructions. And when the instructions come, the audience can feel those pin-pricks of caution raising on their necks. The great thing about The American is that Clooney is truly the only recognizable face for many U.S. film-watchers. But the rest of the cast are just as intense as Clooney\'s character. Great silences and moments of boredom are punctuated alongside moments of terrible aggression and death. And there\'s also sex, love, and priestly friendship intertwined. It\'s rare nowadays to find something like The American showing in U.S. cities, but most of us should be very glad it\'s here. Hearkening back to Hitchcock days (but with a modern bent), this movie almost certainly would\'ve never seen the light of the Western hemisphere had it not been for Clooney\'s pretty-boy face taking front and center stage. But as recognizable as Clooney\'s face is, it is NOT a typical Clooney role. Here we get the actor stretching himself into new (and greater) territory. I swear this movie had the fewest lines I\'ve ever heard in a major Hollywood production; and I\'m thankful for that because it helped up the tension. Indeed, it is the film\'s tension that drives the entire plot. We see and feel the battles raging within Jack as he\'s forced to decide whether to kill someone he\'s growing close to, or to let them live and risk his own life ...again. Those looking for a kind of BOURNE IDENTITY style flick are going to be sorely disappointed if they think this is in-line with that action-driven drivel. So be prepared for something very different. And very good.$

Resident Evil: After

$Watch Resident Evil: Afterlife 0123movies-If you are a fan of trilogy, you shall not be disappointed. This movie completely lives up to it\'s expectations. Honestly I don\'t think 3D was necessary but still it was a great add on. They introduce a new star cast who were familiar from TV shows etc. and they also did a great job. Also don\'t storm out of theaters right after the credits, stay for few minutes and see a MAJOR clue. Milla Jovovich yet again surprises us with her charismatic hardcore action. I cannot imagine anyone else for the role of Alice besides her. Ali Larter didn\'t had a major role but she also kicked butt! And offcourse if you like Zombies, this one has more than the previous parts. The soundtracks of the movie were breath-taking. They literally gave me goosebumps! I\'m just not happy that it wasn\'t long enough. I was hoping for it to be at least 120mins but it was instead 90mins but I guess they are saving it for the next chapter. And yes believe me there will be a next one! I cannot wait to own this movie in Blu-Ray. Go watch it, you will not be disappointed!!!$

$Watch The Last Exorcism 0123movies-The story starts with Reverend Cotton Marcus. He\'s been preaching, giving exorcisms and involved with the church since he was a child. But as time goes on, his beliefs falter, and he is left simply going through the motions. He firmly believes that exorcisms aren\'t real, and he sets out to prove this, via a documentary. He gets a letter from a father in Louisianna, who believes that his daughter is being possessed. So, Cotton decides this is the one he will prove himself on, and heads out the door to Louisianna. When he arrives at Marcus\' house, he goes through all the initial acts, listening to stories and bull-sh*ting himself to an honest man, who is scared for his daughter. All the tests go as planned, and Cotton\'s staged exorcism is set to commence. Through a set of cleverly arranged trip lines and magnets, Cotton performs a very entertaining exorcism, and gets the family to believe he has abolished the demon. He leaves the family satisfied, fully confident that he has proved why exorcisms are all in the mind. Cotton\'s exorcism was undoubtedly funny, from the fake demon noises to the over the top performance from Cotton himself. Just like what you\'d see from the book. When Nell shows up at Cotton\'s hotel, unannounced and in the middle of the night, signals go off that something is wrong. She\'s unresponsive, and they take her to the hospital, where her dad comes to get her in the morning. On his way back to the Sweetzer farm, he notices a fight between Nell and her father, Marcus. When Cotton gets inside the house he notices Caleb, Nell\'s brother, holding a rag to his mouth. He\'s been cut badly by Nell, in her fits of rage during her \$

Takers (2010)

$Watch Takers 0123movies-The plot for this film does not need to be explained. It\'s basically a pastiche of The Italian Job, True Romance and melodramatic clichés. The third element in the blender, mentioned above, along with a script short on genuine character development (You\'ll sometimes forget that Hayden Christensen and Zoe Saldana are in it) are distracting for a film which develops a serious tone, but there are positives, depending on your genre preferences. The film moves along briskly, even as we deal with a cringe-worthy first half, and when the actual robbery gets going, the fun starts. Though the cinematography is modeled too much off of the Bourne-style shaky cam, the set pieces are still very well pulled off. The extended car chases and shootouts contain a level of energy and suspense that really makes them standout, comparable to similar scenes in the above mentioned films, along with an on-foot chase clearly modeling itself off of the Madagascar chase in Casino Royale. Every car whizzing by, bone crunch or gunshot affects the audience due to mostly- proper use of slow motion, and great editing, both sound and film wise. The melodrama may make some engaged viewers start laughing due to how it\'s put on screen, but as the stakes get higher, gels with the storyline. The main cast, considering the material they are given, do the best they can, and their charisma is enough for us to care about them when the stakes get REALLY high, particularly in the case of Matt Dillon and Idris Elba. It\'s highly unoriginal and contains several other elements worthy of nitpicking, but after evaluating how I had spent the past 107 minutes of my life, I think it got the job done.$

The Last Seven (2010

$Watch The Last Seven 0123movies-I enjoy thrillers and twists and after reading the other reviews was considering not watching this movie...I am glad that I ignored some of the other reviews because I thought this movie was brilliant. There is violence but not to an excessive degree and you have to pay attention, but all in all the buildup of suspense is good and the story is original. The cast is small but the acting is good and the scenes of a deserted City of London are excellent. The only thing that I didn\'t get was the last scene and at the beginning, a figure darts across the back of the scene that I thought might be part of the story, but it didn\'t seem to develop. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys thrillers.$

The King of Fighters

$Watch The King of Fighters 0123movies-The King of Fighters is a recent adaptation based on a fighting video game. The previous one is Tekken. I believe this is only released in Singapore. I prefer Tekken to this. Actually, this isn\'t so bad, it is just...average? Again, I am not a video game fan but by seeing the comparison chart between the video game\'s characters and movie characters, this fails. And the thing is the acting isn\'t that good, even Maggie Q\'s is sort of sloppy. Still, the acting is better than Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li but that is not saying much. The only thing good is the fighting scenes with some CGI added. The story: Nothing much actually...it is actually boring if not for the fight scenes. The story is straight forward, the good guys want to catch/kill the one and only bad guy. I can clearly see that this has a small budget and I think this will be released straight to DVD in other countries. The acting is disappointing. Maggie Q is also not doing her best acting. Ray Park, well, acts like a generic bad guy. Evil eyes and laughing evilly. The fight scenes are okay, the CGI is okay for a movie with a small budget. The music is over-the-top and generic. I feel that the music does not even match some scenes and is just there for the sake of being there. When they talk, there is techno music...just plain weird. Overall: It is just mediocre. It is nothing special. It is just disappointing too. I believe it can be improved in ways. Gordon Chan\'s directing is also disappointing. This is a movie that if you miss it in cinema, you won\'t miss much. Except for the cool fight scenes with CGI and Maggie Q, there is nothing much this movie can offer.$

Downstream (2010)

$Watch Downstream 0123movies-This movie is similar to other movies currently released about the future of mankind if we continue with our wasteful ways. There were some very interesting uses of graphic art (kinda Frank Miller-ish) and multi-scene shots. In my opinion, the most interesting character is Tobias; the actor does an excellent job portraying a cut-throat S.O.B. The tag line is something like \$

The Switch (2010)

$Watch The Switch 0123movies-The story begins with Wally(Jason Bateman) an uptight cynical person, who pretty much never sees the good in anything, and you ask yourself, who would want to be his friend. But surprisingly he does a good friend in Kassie(Jennifer Aniston), one day while having lunch with her, she tells him that gonna get pregnant by getting artificially inseminated. Wally thinks the idea is stupid, but supports her none the less. While at the party for it, he meets the donor(Patrick Wilson), and Wally gets really drunk, so drunk he ends up in the bathroom with the donors sea min, and he accidentally loses it, decides to replace it with his own. Wally wakes up not remembering anything that happened. Kassie decides to move away, Wally feels lost without her. Seven years later, Kassie moves back and brings her six year old son Sebastion. Wally is glad she is back, but when he meets up with her and when he meets her son, he somehow feels a connection with him. But the question is Is there? Jennifer Aniston is so bleak in this film, she just doesn\'t really grab your interest, Julliette Lewis who I think drank too much coffee for this film, is really unwatchable. Jeff Goldblum is alright in his role. Jason Bateman is the only one who really shines in this film, he gets all the good lines, and his scenes with the kid are memorable. The film is alright, but it never really takes off as it should.$
