Devil's Knot

The film follows Ron Lax (Firth), a private investigator who decides to take on the West Memphis case pro-bono in what we understand to be the pursuit of a "rightful conviction". Throughout his investigation, Lax uncovers numerous instances of judicial injustice, inconsistencies in the evidence, and improper police protocol that would have been crucial to solving the case and proving the innocence of the three young accused.

Really it\'s a story about the complex loving relationship that develops between two children. The fact that one of them is a vampire just makes things more interesting. I read the book and watched the original film before seeing this adaptation. Even so, I ended up twisting in my seat the whole film. I couldn\'t find a single dull moment. The whole theater was ewwing and awwing and giggling. This film has its flaws, but it\'s very emotionally affecting nonetheless. It\'s thrilling and disturbing, and as real as a film can be. I can\'t wait to watch it again. - Compared w/ the First Film Adaptation - I say it\'s better than the original because more time is spent on the principle characters and the changes tend to make the story more believable. I prefer the acting and cinematography of the original film, but overall I think this is the best film adaptation anyone could hope for.$

I didn\'t think I liked Kirsten Dunst, but I was really impressed by her performance in this film. She goes from squeaky-clean and fresh-faced to disheveled, bleary-eyed and lost effortlessly. Watch. She really seems to age as the film progresses. I\'ve always liked Ryan Gosling, whose rigid, dead-eyed manner is perfect for this role. They have great chemistry and it\'s a terrific story. Very strange, lots of twists to keep you on your toes. A must see if you like twisted love stories and suspense.$
